National Seminar
Bala Chikitsa – Ayurveda For Child Health
Bala Chikitsa, one of the eight parts (Ashtangas) of Ayurvedic practice, has a glorious past in Kerala, where famous books on the subject like Arogya Kalpadrumam were written. Its tremendous potential and contemporary relevance notwithstanding, Bala Chkitsa is not getting the attention it deserves. Helmed by the best-know professionals in this field, The National Seminar seeks to revive the best traditions of Bala Chikitsa. Dr Rajagopala from the National Institute of Ayurveda, Dr Dinesh K S from the Kottakkal Ayurveda College, Dr Roshini Anirudhan from Govt Ayurveda College, Thiruvanathapuram, Dr S K Ramachandran, Retired HOD, Dept of Kaumaram, Govt Ayurveda College, Thiruvanathapuram and Dr Raja Hariparasad eminent Bala Chikitsa practitioner from Trissur are among those who will participate in the seminar in various roles. To kindle interest in this subject among upcoming professionals, paper and poster presentation sessions for undergraduate and post-graduate students of Ayurveda have also been organised.
Hortus Malabaricus – Expo on ethnic and endemic species of flora
This mega event has its venue close to the birthplace of the late Itty Achuthan Vaidyan, chief contributor to Hortus Malabaricus and author of Maha Nikhandu. To pay homage to his wisdom and contribution to Ayurveda, an expo of all medicinal plants described in his books has been organised. The expo and related public seminars are headed by Dr Ajayan Sadanandan, Head, Department of Dravyaguna, Ayurveda College, Coimbatore.
India’s best-known nurseries and herbal gardens have confirmed their participation in this expo that aims to propagate the mantra of preservation of endangered flora. The expo is open to the public and people of nearby villages have started projects in farming based on Vrikshayurveda concepts of Ayurveda for participating in it. We expect visitors of more than twenty-five thousand in two days.
Business Expo
AMAI State Conference is not a mere triennial organisational exercise but a great meeting point for the members of the huge and constantly growing Ayurveda community. Here knowledge is shared and new ideas generated to advance the theory and practice of this great science of healing. To tap into this exclusive group of opinion leaders and influencers, major pharma and allied companies, lifestyle product manufacturers and other industrial giants make it a point to showcase their products and services in the business expo conducted as part of the event. Alappuzha, where this year’s event will be held, is a popular tourist destination. We encourage all participants to bring their families too and experience the unique attractions of this location with a glorious history
Cultural Programmes
A variety of entertainment programmes await the participants at the venue. Cultural and art forms of Central Travancore, short films and photo exhibitions will round out this uniquely enlightening experience for the visitor.
