NATIONAL AYURVEDA DAY STATE LEVEL INAUGURATION

img-20161030-wa0013 While inaugurating the Ayurveda Day State level programme at Thiruvananthapuram Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, steps would be taken for setting up an Ayurveda institute on international standards in the state, – He said there is a need to revise the system of Ayurveda according to the times. He also warned against fake ayurveda practitioners in the state and said that it should be seen that only those who had got proper training should practise the system. Sri Pinarayi Vijayan said that there is a need to ensure the quality of ayurveda medicines. He also mentioned that there were some dangers with respect to globalisation and also that there were people who looked at profit only. Pointing out that lifestyle diseases and contagious diseases were on an increase in the state, the Chief Minister said that ayurveda had a major role to play in that. There is  a need to create awareness on ayurveda among the people. As such there was a need to create awareness from the school level itself, he added. Health Minister of Kerala  K K Shylaja presided over the function .She said that the government was giving much prominence to ayurveda. She also said that a research centre under the Health University would be set up within a year. Ayush Department secretary B Ashok, Oushadi chairman K R Vishwambaran, National Ayush Mission Director Kesavendra Kumar and others were present. Dr.Rejith Anand, state General secretary, represented AMAI in the function.
